Rick And Morty: Season 1 (2013) Cre: Justin Roiland & Dan Harmon
After watching this show an unreasonable number of times, I decided I should take the time to review it, season by season. After all, it is one of the most popular series around at the moment.
With its semi-improvisational style and rick-diculous humour and storytelling, this adult animated series is so much fun to watch. It combines some quite frankly bizarre and strange comedy with a couple of very intensely emotional scenes to create a truly excellent debut season.
The main cast is comprised of the likes of Justin Rolland, Maurice LaMarche, Spencer Grammer, the amazingly hilarious Chris Parnell and Sarah Chalke.
They each bring so much in the way of comedic timing, improvisation and personality that helps make each of their characters feel so individual and unique, yet, through their interpersonal relationships, linked in complex and fundamental ways.
I'll also mention the likes of Brandon Johnson, Kari Wahlgren, Tom Kenny, Scott Chernoff, Alfred Molina, John Oliver and Phil Hendrie, who all provide the voices of some really fun and entertaining characters.
Overall, it's easy to see why this show has become such a popular and mainstream hit. It's incredibly funny, creative and varied - and more than deserved the subsequent follow up seasons.
