Girl In The Picture (2022) Dir: Skye Borgman

Letterboxd post:

I cannot stress how much of a wild and emotional roller coaster this documentary film was. Naturally, a lot of true crime cases have an unpredictable nature to them, but this really became a saga of twists and turns.

The case of 'Sharon Marshall' is a truly horrific and intriguing case. Everytime you think you know where the film is going, a new piece of information comes to light and turns the case on its head once more.

It was nice to watch a true crime case in a film format, rather than a limited series - the 84 minute runtime means the whole case, in all its complex glory, is wrapped up in a nice, neat bow.

The soundtrack and cinematography was pretty solid, though honestly, what really sells this documentary is the case itself, as it should be. Director Skye Borgman did well to tell such a wild story in the manner she did.
