Star Wars: The Clone Wars [Season 4] (2012) Cre: Dave Filoni

After a short break, I finally got back to my rewatch of this much loved animated series. As those who have read the reviews for the previous seasons, I am a huge fan of this series, having watched it when it first came out. That said, I must admit I did not remember too much of this particular season.

There seems to have been a commitment to more multi-episode storylines, with a number of 2 to 3 episode arcs featuring throughout. I prefer this honestly, as much as the one-off episodes are fun, the longer term stories tend to present so much more to be enjoyed.

Show-runner Dave Filoni once more dedicates a number of episodes to the more fringe aspects of the Star Wars universe, something I personally really enjoyed. That is something this show always did well, it meant more casual fans got to see a different side of the galaxy far, far away that they would not have otherwise.

I would also note the steady improvement of graphics in the animation of the show as a whole, with further improvements coming later too. There are one or two moments where maybe it could have been better, but, all things considered, these are barely noticeable.

This series marks a definitive turning point in the story of Anakin Skywalker, as the seeds of doubt are securely planted in the lead up to Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith, where the show ends.

Overall, this was not quite as strong as season 3, but still an immensely enjoyable collection of episodes with plenty of storyline development and intrigue for fans of the show to find joy in.
