Jeff Rowe's interpretation of the iconic band of mutant juveniles proved to be an absolute delight in so many ways. The animation style was unique, quirky and fun, and maintained a solid combination of comic book drawing and modern animation styles. The soundtrack was upbeat, varied and excellent, which helped to fuel what was a rhythmic and fast paced story.

Characters had solid development with their arcs and drove the plot forward smoothly. I was particularly impressed with the layered humour, which meant there was plenty to enjoy for both older and younger audiences.

The leading quartet of Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr, Nicolas Cantu and Brady Noon each gave fantastically enjoyable performances, and seemed to bounce off one another very well. I was particularly impressed with Cantu, whose performance was that much more varied than his co-stars.

Ayo Edebiri was enjoyable in her supporting role, although I would have liked her character to feel a little more unique. That said, it wasn't an issue caused by Edebiri's performance.

O'Shea Jackson Jr, also known as Ice Cube, provided the voice of the film's main antagonist, and oozed charisma, as you'd expect, in a role that suited his acting style immensely. He was able to illicit the threat and humour of his villainous character in abundance.

Jackie Chan was the perfect casting choice for the role of Splinter, and he performed as such, with his wonderful combination of sincere emotion and comedic timing on clear display.

Other noteworthy names from the cast include the likes of Maya Rudolph, John Cena, Seth Rogan, Rose Byrne, Natasia Demetriou, Giancarlo Esposito, Paul Rudd, Post Malone and Hannibal Buress.

Overall, I was very impressed with this exciting and hugely entertaining animated adventure, with highlights being the exquisite animation and the vocal performances of the four leads.
