Beverly Hills Cop (1984) Dir: Martin Brest

This Martin Brest action comedy is typical of the many hugely entertaining classics that emerged from the 80s. It has an abundance of goofy laughs, a typically 80s soundtrack - which is no bad thing I might add, and an iconic lead actor.

It's a film that's easy to get your teeth into, and features a plot that holds up pretty well, but makes sure to keep the comedy as the center of the piece.

Eddie Murphy is at his eccentric and entertaining best, with his on-screen charisma leaving his co-stars in the dust at every turn. In his prime, few actors could evoke laughs from an audience like him, and this film is a great example of this.

Beyond him, Lisa Eilbacher and Judge Reinhold also standout, both have solid chemistry with Murphy, and provide plenty of entertainment in their own right.

The other noteworthy cast members, each of whom contributed positively to the film's success, were; John Ashton Steven Berkoff, Gil Hill and Jonathon Banks.

Overall, this is a classic film of the 80s, and has endured as a hilarious and popular comedy that still gets talked about today. I could sit down and rewatch this pretty much whenever and have a good time.
