The Walking Dead #1 (2004) By Robert Kirkman

Ridley Coote

As a fan of the first five series of the iconic TWD television series, it seemed only right to at least start the graphic novels, from which the show is based. I know how popular these graphic novels are, so I had relatively high expectations for this first issue.

I wouldn't call this first issue scary, certainly not compared to the excellently creepy pilot for the show, but I enjoyed pretty much everything I read in this debut issue. It set up the story of Rick Grimes well, and allowed the reader to gain some early glimpses into the horror to come.
