The Ripper (2020) Dir: Jesse Vile and Ellena Wood

Letterboxd review:

The case of Peter Sutcliffe, aka the Yorkshire Ripper, is a harrowing and horrific criminal stain on British history - but it does at least make for a fascinating documentary series.

The retelling of events is very well done and is supported by a well crafted soundtrack. The composition of content is spread effectively across each of the episodes, allowing the series to avoid feeling rushed.

Directors Jesse Vile and Ellena Wood do an excellent job to create an effective and enthralling limited series that is one of the best Netflix has produced thus far.

Overall, I enjoyed this a lot more than most of Netflix's true crime selection, despite knowing a lot about the Yorkshire Ripper prior to watching this series.
