If Anything Happens I Love You (2020) Dir: Will McCormack & Michael Govier

Updated: May 30, 2022

Letterboxd post:

This was a beautifully tragic and heart-wrenching short film with some really lovely animation, which was used very effectively to tell a poignant, deep and all too realistic visual story.

The film may only be 12 minutes, but in that time it manages to create an entire narrative and induce a myriad of emotions.

I cannot begin to imagine how much more impactful this film would be and is for parents who have lost their child in this way, or at all for that matter.

The film tells a devastatingly realistic story of what is left behind by gun violence, especially in places such as the United States.

Directors Will McCormack and Michael Govier did an immaculate job on this film - it is a very good social issue drama.
