Castlevania: Season 3 (2020) Dir: Sam Deats, Adam Deats & Spencer Wan

This series has been so easy to binge watch, thanks to it's sub-thirty minute episode runtimes, that I very quickly made it through seasons one, two and now three without much effort or need for a break. I have really enjoyed this show so far.

Season three continues on, predictably, from the prior season, once again building and developing the story arcs. I actually think this might be the season with my favourite subplots. They give substance to the overall narrative without feeling unimportant or distracting.

The main story arc initially feels smaller than those of the prior seasons, but builds up really nicely as the episodes progress. By the end, we have a number of intriguing plot points and potential narrative paths to go down in season four.

Richard Armitage and Alejanda Reynoso share virtually every scene of theirs with one another, both providing good voice performances.

James Callis has more of his own screentime to develop as a character, something I think he benefits from very nicely.

Adetokumboh M'Cormack also has the same opportunity to do so, and his character's evolution is very interesting.

Jaime Murray kind of fades into the background with her character in this series, though I don't blame that on her.

We also see the introduction of Bill Nighy of all people as the character Saint Germain - I actually really enjoyed his character, though he seemed to he lost in the shuffle occasionally.

Jessica Brown Findlay is introduced and very quickly edtablishes her character as one of the most intriguing of the whole series. Alongside her, Theo James does well with one of the more slow burn subplots.

Overall, this season continues to build on the quality of the prior seasons, and as you can imagine if you've read my other series reviews, I am very keen to watch the fourth and final season.
