Back To The Future (1985) Dir: Robert Zemeckis

In 1985, Robert Zemeckis brought to life one of the 20th Century's most beloved and memorable films. With the accompanying, and iconic, soundtrack of the legendary Alan Silvestri, Zemeckis told a story that has twists, turns and a whole lots of comedy.
This film has stuck with me, along with countless others, because of its energetic and humorous leads, fun and thrilling action and absurdly cheesy and exciting time-travelling story.
Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd make for the perfect pairing. Their on-screen chemistry is spot-on and they are able to bounce off each other's performances brilliantly. They were, and are, an extremely memorable and beloved duo, and rightly so.
I have always enjoyed Lea Thompson's performance in this film, she seemed to understand the irony of her character perfectly, and leant into it to great and hilarious effect. Crispin Glover also seemed to understand his role very well, and was so good at being awkward and anxious in abundance.
Thomas F. Wilson provided a great foil for the protagonists, and made himself larger than life in the best ways - maximising the villainy and the absurdity. I'll also mention Claudia Wells and James Tolkan, who have small, but memorable roles.
Overall, I, like many others, adore this film and its subsequent sequels. I think its funny, adventurous, hugely entertaining and undeniably a product (ironically enough) of its time - in a good way. When someone talks about the 80s, a few films come to mind, and, more often than not, it's this one first.
